Firearm Registration

Redstone Arsenal (RSA) is a US Army installation and ALL firearms must be registered with the Military Police before being brought on post. To register a firearm(s), please download, print, and fill out the "RSA Firearms Registration Form (FRF)" linked on the right. The completed FRF must be scanned and emailed to kortni.r.larue.civ@army.mil or submitted in person to the Directorate of Emergency Services Registration Office at 3623 Gray Rd. Do NOT bring an unregistered firearm onto the Arsenal to register it. Shooters without RSA access who plan on attending one of the club’s registered shoots but are unable to scan the form to the above email, contact the club president or vice president. These shooters need to submit the FRF at least one month prior to an event. Firearm registration is good for 5 years. NOTICE: ALL firearms a shooter brings on RSA must be listed on an FRF. If a shooter will have a spouse, child, friend, etc. accompany them to MARS Skeet and Trap Club, any shotgun that they use will either have to be listed on the shooter’s FRF or they must have their shogun(s) listed on their own FRF.

Post Access

MARS members in good standing will be put on the official club roster. The roster will be sent to MSFC security for distribution to RSA security and to each gate. Firearms must be declared at the Arsenal gates. If you are stopped for a vehicle search immediately notify the security officer that you are a MARS Skeet and Trap Club member and that you are transporting a firearm to the range. You should always have your FRF in your vehicle and present it with your base access card when going through the gate. There should be a copy of the roster in the guard shack. For those shooters who do not have access to RSA, in order to attend a registered shoot or any other club event you must be put on the visitor pass list for all days of any event. To get on the visitor list, a shooter, along with any person over 16 (spouse, child, friend, etc.) attending the event with a shooter, must submit the following information to club management for every attendee no later than one week prior to the first day of the event: First name, MI, last name Driver’s license state of issue Driver’s license number Email address that is monitored Shooters and all those accompanying them must enter RSA Gate 9 and notify a gate guard that you and any others are attending an event at MARS Skeet and Trap Club. A shooter and those accompanying him/her should be on the visitor pass list. It is required to show your FRF. It is best to have hard copies of each and not photos on a phone or attachments to an email. The above information is included in every registered shoot flyer the club sends out. Also, MARS Skeet and Trap Club is not affiliated with the skeet and trap range operated by RSA MWR Outdoor Recreation.

Directions to the Range

1A. From Gate 9/Rideout Rd - Continue south on Rideout Rd. About 3 miles south of Gate 9, ,there will be a display of rockets on the left. Tiros St. will be on the right just past the rockets. Tiros does not cross Rideout. - Turn right on Tiros. If you pass a fire station on your left, you have passed Tiros. - Continue to the club using the directions in "2", below. 1B. From the intersection of Martin Rd and Rideout Rd - Go north on Rideout. When you pass the fire station on the right, Tiros St will be up on the left. Tiros does not cross Rideout. - Turn left on Tiros. If you reach the display of rockets on your right, you have missed Tiros St. - Continue to the club using the directions in "2", below. 2. When on Tiros St - Continue west on Tiros. - Continue straight through the four way stop. You will pass Bldg 4718 on the right and woods on the left. - Continue past Bldg 4718. You will see an elevated tube coming out of the west end of the building. - Continue west on Tiros and along this tube. - There are two short roads on the right when the road starts to slope down. Turn right on the second road. There will be a small sign with “MARS Skeet and Trap Club”. - Make an immediate left on a road that runs parallel to the elevated tube. - Continue west and you will see the club trailer and ranges to the right. - Follow the road around the building that is at the end of the tube to get to the club parking lot.
